- This System Configuration opens a window for collecting
statistics on the execution time of an instance of the
GP_IN2
Function Block (FB) type, followed by an instance of the
GP_OUT2
Function Block (FB) type, located in the RUT
(Resource Under Test) resource.
- A new measurement is triggered by a click on the START
button located in the
IN resource.
- Statistics are not collected on the first pass, to
eliminate a one-time delay due to system overhead for
initialization.
- The statistics are collected in an instance of the
STATS
FB type, and displayed by an instance of the
STATS_OUT
FB type, both of which are located in the OUT
resource.
- The results of a run of this system configuration after
25 and 50 samples are shown at the right.
- These results are obtained by running the system
configuration as an argument to the
system.jar
executable in a terminal window of a Raspberry
Pi 2 Model B under the Raspbian operating system, with no
other user tasks running.
- These results indicate that the mean execution time of
the
GP_IN2 + GP_OUT2 combination is approximately
1124 microseconds with a standard deviation of
approximately 190 microseconds.
- This compares with an expected value of (710+653) = 1363
microseconds with a standard deviation of √(1132+832)
= 140 microseconds, based on the
GP_IN2_STATS and GP_OUT2_STATS
results.
