The sequence shown below
is one of many possible normal operational sequences, depending on the
relative speed of operation of the various physical components of the
system and the order in which pegs and rings are fed to the chain. |
1. A ring is fed into the supply transfer bar (s1). |
2. The ring has arrived at the sortation area and the
sort solenoid has begun its motion (s2). |
3. The sortation is complete and the ring has arrived
at the rotary solenoid, which has begun operation (s3). |
4. The ring has been moved to the assembly area by the
rotary solenoid, which has returned to its original position. |
 |
 |
 |
 |
5. A second ring has been deflected from the sortation
area to the rotary solenoid area, and a peg has passed the sortation
area. |
6. The peg slides down the chute. |
7. The peg is carried by the belt toward the assembly
area (s4). |
8. Assembly has completed (s5)
and the rotary solenoid has advanced the second disk to the assembly
area. The assembled combination has passed the inspection station (s6) and will proceed to the delivery
chute (s7). |
